We had a photoshoot dis mornin' in da big comfy bed. We think we make better sooper pawdels for Mawtha Stewart's fronchie bed sheets. Now dat Basil modeled in NYC and was all over da papers, he thinks he's more sooper dan me, but I'll show him.

New Accessories

All the kids on the block got new back packs, lunch boxes and shoes. Mom and dad didn't want us to feel left out, so we got preppy new collars and ID tags.

GUINNESS - Welcome to our family! You are ours furever!

BASIL - You'll always be our special boy! Look how strong and handsome you are now.

Our tags have different font for our names since we have different personalities, but our collars are the same style except for the color. Green/Blue is for Basil since he came to our family with a green collar. Guinness' collar is Red/Navy Blue which looks nice against his golden brown brindle coat. Now all mom needs to do is design a new blog header.

Mom, I have a bone to pick with you. No pun intended. I was looking for my next possible brother or sister on FBRN when I read this on Spencer Tracy's bio:

"He can sit politely on the couch with his foster mom, and he quickly discovered the resident Frenchies’ soft, heated bed."

Basil cuts down his first tree

We took Basil to our local tree farm to pick out his first tree. He was so excited to go!

All the dogs on the farm were jealous of him.

That was hard work but somedog has gotta do it. Hurry up dad! Let's take it home and decorate it.

Like Father Like Son

Basil loves the car. He's so well behaved. He stays in the back and never jumps up front. Most of the time he just falls asleep immediately.


The back seats are a little awkward for him, so we got him a "car seat" to lay down in. He loves it. He got right into it and went to sleep. Here he is in my car. Tan interior, tan bed.


Typically, we take this red flannel blanket with us which he seems to have grown to love. Look at how sweet he is. Since we usually use this car, we're going to look into the car seats made for dogs which you latch a harness to.


He still won't go into the car himself. I have to pick him up and put him in. I tried enticing him with a biscuit. He seemed interested...


I tried to tell him to go into the floor first and then onto the seat, but that wasn't getting through to him. I sat on the other side to encourage him.


Looks like my treat wasn't enticing enough. Look at that face! Next time, we're going to use a more enticing treat and sit on the other side to get him in.

Basil goes Shopping

We took Basil for an outing. He was so excited and had a great car ride too. He sniffed everything in the store. We think he really enjoyed it. We tried on different clothes and even costumes. More to come on that.


This jacket was so cute but it was too small for him. I'm going to try to sew one like it for him.


He met a lot of other dogs there and they all made friends.


TOYS TOYS TOYS


We tested Basil with these kitties. He was very curious about them. He's so sweet, but they hissed at him. Another reason I don't like cats.


Then we had lunch outside with him. Everyone who walked by kept complimenting him and telling us how cute he was. I agree.

Dog gear

We knew this would be addicting thing about getting a dog. All the cool stuff! We went out in search of a new bed for Duval. Keith had his pick and I had mine. I won! But we might get him a second bed to put upstairs.





Then we saw all the doggie customes and clothes for halloween.
