Basil Makes Friends

Basil had a full week even though he wasn't feeling like himself. Let's see what he was up to.

Basil met Bo from across the street. Bo is very timid and shy, but as sweet as can be. She doesn't take to new dogs and people easily, but since Basil was about her size or smaller, she was less fearful. She tested Basil. They sniffed each other and then Bo egged Basil on to play! Yippee! Bo seemed more comfortable in her own yard, so Basil was invited in to play. He on the other hand was playing hard to get with her.

During his morning walk, he bumped into Carmel, the lab next door. Carmel was so excited to meet Basil and finally have a dog pal to romp with! Later that day, they played over in Carmel's yard. Poor Carmel kept trying to get Basil attention by bringing him a football, but Basil was more interested in sniffing the yard.

Keith and I heard the knock of little hands on our front door and guess who it was! G and K! Carmel's humans! They wanted to meet and play with Basil. He was soooo good with them! I love him more and more each minute. He was so good with Bo.

Although they haven't met yet, Basil's cousin Tego gave him a welcoming gift. A whole box of goodies! Basil loves them! They can't wait to meet each other.

Basil also met Princess Fluff Fluff, a maltese (I didn't get a picture) during a morning walk. They met, they sniffed each other and then Fluff Fluff turned her cute little self and wiggled away. I think she was giving Basil a little taste and then playing hard to get.

I love my mommy.

After a long day, our nightly ritual is to cuddle together on the couch with the red blanket and watch tv. He seems to have taken a liking to this blanket so we bring it with us when we go somewhere new with him.
